Seniors and their parents and guardians are reminded that the new federal suggested filing deadline for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has been moved up to late October. This date change will help families determine the best financial package for their students. In most cases families will now file their FAFSA just after their student applies to their colleges, three months earlier than previous years
Also, from 10:30 to noon Sept. 23, Ercilia Jonas of the Illinois Student Assistance Commission will present a financial aid workshop in Spanish.
Learn about the new deadline dates and more on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 17 at Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.
This free event is open to the public and all parents and students are encouraged to attend. Free continental breakfast and babysitting will be provided.
