They want to be significant, cared about and secure. As parents, when we deliver consistently growth-oriented messages, our students will develop the grit needed to forge ahead in their dreams.

In this highly inspiring, interactive and fun presentation with master trainer Pat Donohue, participants will gain the practical tools parents need to empower their students to succeed.

Join us and learn the 5 key messages that can build school success, unlock the potential in young people, and help parents develop the type of relationship with their child that is positive, and full of energy.

Educator and certified coach, Patrick Donohue has presented to hundreds of businesses and schools on the topics of The Growth Mindset & Grit, Great Parenting and Developing Positive Habits. . He is the director of a coaching practice which specializes in working with young men for academic and relational success. Patrick is a former high school educator and staff developer and former Division I baseball player from Northwestern University, Patrick is also the author of Red Zone Fathering: 48 Plays Great Fathers Make.

The event is free and open to the public.  Continuing professional development units are available.

Patrick Donohue’s presentation of “Five Things Successful Students Do” at 7:00 p.m.

The FAFSA Completion Assistance Workshop will begin at 6:00 p.m.. in the North computer lab.  Participants will receive one-on-one assistance from financial aid specialists at the Illinois Assistance Corps to file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form online. Please bring the following necessary documentation: 2017 Federal tax returns, 2017 W2 forms and record of untaxed income and investment/asset /business value.  Assistance will be available in Spanish and English.
