Loving, Affirming, and Supporting All Children to Thrive: A Gender and Identity Conversation

Thu, Aug 26, 2021 @ 7:00 pm CDT - 8:00 pm CDT

| Free

For caregivers of teens who identify outside societal gender or sexuality norms, there is a critical need for intentional and caring parenting. Nearly one-third of high school students with nontraditional gender identities drop out of school as a way to escape the discrimination, bullying, harassment, and violence they encounter in their schools and communities. Young people thrive when they understand that their parents love and accept them unconditionally. Family members and friends can have a huge positive impact during the struggles these young people face because of rejection, discrimination, and a lack of empathy. To introduce strategies to help all young people feel valued, included, safe, and loved, we are presenting a seminar featuring two nationally recognized adolescent medical specialists to provide insights and answer questions. Join us as we seek to raise awareness and provide researched information on how to thrive as a caregiver in this parenting space.

This event will be presented virtually.  The link will be posted here when available to log in to this webinar from your computer, tablet or phone.
