Over 40% of Muslim American children report bullying in school from classmates and teachers. A 9-year-old black girl in Louisiana commits suicide due to racist taunts. Anti-Semitic hate crimes are at record highs. Violence against women, immigrants, and marginalized communities continue to increase. While daunting, such dire circumstances can be overcome with dialogue, education, and engaged local leaders. This lecture will speak to the practical steps each of us can take to create a better environment for our children, and a better more inclusive future for our nation.
