Untangled

New York Times best selling author Lisa Damour, Ph.D. pulls back the curtain on the teenage years and shows why your teens erratic and confusing behavior is actually healthy, necessary, and natural. Dr. Damour draws on decades of experience and the latest research to reveal the seven developmental stages that turn adolescents into thriving adults. This presentation will explain what’s going on, prepare parents for what’s to come, and lets them know when it’s time to worry.
Here is welcome advise for parents on anxiety, substance use, moods, media and more. When parents know what makes their teens tick, they can better enjoy the challenge, grow with their child, and form happier, healthier relationships

Dr. Damour is the director of Laurel School’s Center for Research on Girls, and is a regular contributor at CBS News and The New York Times’.

She serves as a senior advisor to the Schubert Center for Child Studies at Case Western Reserve University and also consults and speaks internationally. She is the author of numerous academic papers and books related to education and child development. Previous GPS speakers Dr. Michael Thompson ” and Dr. Madeline Levine praise this award winning book as “mandatory reading.”

Dr Damour has held fellowships from Yale’s Edward Zigler Center in Child Development and Social Policy and the University of Michigan’s Power Foundation. Damour draws on years of clinical experience and the latest research to provide sound, practical guidance to teens as well as to their parents, teachers and advocates.
