Positive Psychology For Peak Performance: Back to School Parent and Athlete Night

Glenbard athletes and their parents are required to attend the Back to School Athletic night at their school.

Back to School Parent and Athlete Nights have been organized by the Glenbard Assistant Principals for Athletics, D’Wayne Bates Glenbard East, Matt Bowser Glenbard North, Tim Carlson Glenbard South and Joe Kain Glenbard West. The Assistant Principals for Athletes will discuss important policy as part of this mandatory event for student athletes and their parents.

In partnership with the Glenbard Parent Series, Dr Ross Flowers will present Positive Psychology For Peak Performance

Monday, August 19 at Glenbard North 6 p.m.

Monday, August 19 at Glenbard East 6 p.m.   (6:45p.m. Dr Flowers presentation begins)

Tuesday, August 20 at Glenbard South 6 p.m.

Tuesday, August 20 at Glenbard West 6:30 p.m.

Psychological characteristics such as mental preparation: goal setting, imagery, self-talk, attitude and relaxation have been shown to play essential roles in the ability of individuals to fulfill their athletic potential. How can student athletes stay focused and in control of their training and student life?

Internationally recognized sport psychologist, Dr. Ross Flowers will offer proven performance psychology techniques to help coaches, parents and student-athletes enjoy their sport and achieve peak performance. Dr. Flowers utilizes his experiences as a UCLA collegiate All-American, Hall of Fame Division 1 college coach, and 20 years of working with youth, college, Olympic and professional athletes (LA Rams and LA Clippers) to offer game changing presentations. Dr Flowers, who is the author of Introducing Your Child to Sports, An Expert’s Answers to Parents’ Questions About Raising a Healthy, Balance, Happy Athlete, has expertise in assessing attributes such as self-confidence, decision-making, leadership, communication, anger management, adaptability, and achievement planning — in order to develop successful strategies to improve behavior, performance and organizational culture in sports and life.

Dr. Ross Flowers is an experienced psychologist, international sport and performance psychologist, executive coach, author and speaker.
