Teenage depression is more common than people may realize. It’s more than feeling sad, it isn’t just a bad mood and may present as irritability. It can alter every aspect of an adolescent’s life. In severe cases depression can be life threatening with suicide as a possible outcome. In this important presentation we will focus on the symptoms, causes and treatments. Attendees will learn how teen depression is different from the normal ups and downs of adolescence as we separate warning signs of real concern from the erratic behavior so typical of the teen years. Learn how adults can best intervene as well as the most effective treatment options for teens when depression is identified.
