Following instructions, staying focused and using self-control can be better predictors of future academic and social emotional success than traditional IQ tests. These skills help children pay attention and control their thoughts, actions and feelings.
During the two webinars, Dr. Stephanie Carlson will demonstrate how adults can foster reflection and executive function skills in early childhood to set up children for success in life.
Carlson is a McKnight University professor at the Institute of Child Development, University of Minnesota and is co-founder of Reflection Sciences, Inc. (for children) and Reflective Performance, Inc. (for adults). She is a recognized leader in the study of executive function.
