How to best support our students post-Covid will be the topic of this important conversation. NPR education reporter Anya Kamenetz will discuss how the last true social safety net, the public school system, was crippled by the pandemic, and how years of short-sighted decisions have failed to put our children first.

Kamenetz makes the case that 2020 wasn’t a “lost” year, it was stolen from our children. And the stage for that loss was first set by years of neglect and bad faith that failed to prioritize education. She will examine the judgements that were made with the best of intentions, and will look at what worked, what didn’t work — and how we can do better.

Anya Kamenetz is the lead digital education correspondent for NPR. She’s contributed to the New York Times, Washington Post, New York Magazine, Slate, and O, the Oprah Magazine, and has won multiple awards for her reporting on education, technology, and innovation. She is the author of four books: Generation Debt, DIY U, The Test, and The Art of Screen Time.

Author and professor of pediatrics in the Division of Adolescent Medicine at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine Ken Ginsberg Md will join us and share remarks,
